The matrix to map
your organization:
The Casewise Framework is based around the above matrix. This matrix, embedded into Corporate
Modeler, offers a way to model your organization using manageable, linked diagrams. Each cell of the matrix
relates to either a different view point of your business - motivation, process, people, place and data
(horizontal axis) or an expanded level of detail - from Corporate Planner through to database designer
(vertical axis).
Clicking on any cell within Corporate Modeler navigates you to the relevant description of what to model,
templates and guidance to assist you as well as an illustration of what your finished cell might look like.
Why create an Enterprise Architecture Model?
Most companies have numerous information systems that were developed individually over time. Integrating
the data from these disparate systems costs a great deal of time and money. The inconsistencies and
duplication of data in distinct systems leave management with uncertain answers to key business
questions.
Lack of timely information in the fast-paced competitive business world has many managers reevaluating
the benefits of their technology investments.
Enterprise architecture is an approach to constructing systems that provide faster access to consistent
information about the business and its markets and customers.
Having central enterprise definitions and representations for what the business is and how the business
runs makes it easier for an organization to respond to change. Eliminating the duplication and discontinuity
in data increases the return on investment made on IT implementations.
Enterprise architecture eliminates discontinuity and redundancies of data in the enterprise systems, making
it useful for management purposes. It delivers quality information to produce a quality enterprise.
Why use the Casewise Framework?
- Links together all modeling required to develop Enterprise Architecture in one scalable repository
- Indicates what level of detail each area of modeling should include (tells users when enough detail has
been reached)
- Provides examples and templates for developing the models
- Framework is built into Corporate Modeler
- Flexible HTML generation so models can be posted to the web
- Repository based, multi-user environment for large project teams
- Integration with 'best-in-class' 3rd party applications such as Rational Rose, Telelogic DOORS, Microsoft
Visio, Erwin, Sybase PowerDesigner, etc. ...
- Fully integrated modeling diagrams
- Enhanced support for Enterprise Architecture through user-defined objects, properties and associations.
